The Animal Services Committee is looking for new members! We are reaching far and wide to sniff out other animal groups that would be a support for animals when disaster strikes. We are also very busy pulling together a Free Training for “Rescues” that house large quantities of animals on a regular basis (Adoption groups) and the training will include Shelter In Place as well as Evacuation Procedures/Techniques. This training will include input from Animal Control, Department of Health – Veterinary Services, and experienced Disaster Response Groups. We are looking forward to the results of an initial survey we will distribute to determine the final outline of the training. We anticipate the the format of the training will include several speakers doing a PowerPoint presentation and possibly a short drill/exercise a the end of the training. The date/time has not been determined.
